About NCANPHA

The North Carolina Association of Non-Profit Homes for the Aging (NCANPHA) is the state association of not-for-profit providers dedicated to providing quality care, housing, health, community and related services to the elderly. As the only Association in North Carolina exclusively representing not-for profit long term care facilities, a primary goal is to support members in maintaining their 501 (c)(3) status and promoting the not-for-profit philosophy of quality long term care and services for the elderly. NCANPHA member facilities serve over 20,000 older people and meet the needs of thousands more through facility outreach programs such as home health care, congregate meals, respite care, day care and other supportive services.

NCANPHA Mission Statement

The Association's mission is to enhance its members' ability to serve their constituents, represent and promote the common interest of its members, provide ongoing education opportunities and advocate for the aging.

Member Communities

Member communities are sponsored by private, community and religious organizations, and share a common commitment to provide high quality care and services to the elderly.

Our members include:

  • Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCS) and Full Service Rental Retirement Communities
  • Retirement Housing and HUD Financed Housing for the Elderly
  • Personal Care/Assisted Living Facilities
  • Nursing Homes

NCANPHA Leadership

NCANPHA proposes innovative regulatory and legislative changes to enhance member's ability to provide care and services in North Carolina. The Association represents non-profit providers in North Carolina before state and local governmental agencies, other allied professional organizations, residents groups and the general public.

NCANPHA Advocacy

The Association protects your interest in Raleigh with representation at the North Carolina General Assembly and in Washington, D.C. through our national affiliate, the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA). NCANPHA coordinates a grassroots advocacy program and maintains a strong presence with State regulatory agencies.

NCANPHA Information

NCANPHA keeps you informed through our monthly newsletter the Non-Profit Provider Update, the AAHSA Provider News and Washington Report. It offers late-breaking information on important proposals through North Carolina Legislative and regulatory alerts.

NCANPHA Education and Networking

The Association offers professionals at all levels of your organization the opportunity to network and share ideas at seminars, workshops and at Spring and Summer Educational Conferences. It offers professional licensure credits for a number of related professions at NCANPHA seminars and workshops. Also, it provides opportunities to participate and affect change through active participation on various Boards, committees, task forces and interested groups.

NCANPHA Shared Services Programs

Shared Services Programs saves you money by offering a wide range of group purchasing programs such as Directors and Officers Liability Insurance and supplies.

Our Primary Goal

Our primary goal is to help our members maintain a tradition of excellence in programs and services offered to their residents and to the community they serve through outreach programs. We welcome members who share this goal. Together, we can meet the non-profit challenge to provide quality care.
